Wednesday nights. Llama Bar. Juicy steak. Good music. For just $10 bucks.
Ten bucks, you must be joking? No, I’m serious. It’s a good chunk of meat, some potato mash and crispy sweet potato ‘ribbons’ to top it off. It is a cheap night out, if you and your mates get a bottle of wine or two, and the steak, however you like it – with your choice of béarnaise, mushroom or pepper sauce.
The service is great with the meal arriving quickly. The bar staff knows what they are doing. But one tip – if you like your steak well done, make sure you ask for ‘really well done’, I think the chef must like his steak medium, so unless you take it up a ‘notch’ you might not get what you want.
The serves are quite adequate, so only order chips if you are really hungry, and I would suggest even sharing with someone else, because they are quite a hefty feed. The salad, well I think you’d only get that if you really liked your lettuce.
Bookings are essential now that the place has become so popular, and they serve food from 6pm through to 9pm.
If you’re an Eagles supporter, you might even spot some of your favourites digging into some steak, chips and soft drinks, it seems to be the cool place to be if you are a sport star.
Check it out, it’s a great night out with a group of work mates, or friends. My recommendation is if you want to be seen, ask for the centre table – but you’ll have to scrape together 12 or so of your friends, as that table is only for big bookings!
