The Eagles were in finals contention Essendon spoilt the party with the upset of the year to beat the top ranked Saint by 2 points which unfortunately put the Eagles out of contention for this year’s finals.

We now turn our attention to the game at hand where the Eagles take on Richmond at the MCG. This is all about pride and taking some momentum into next season and to finish seasons off strong. West Coast declared last week star pair duo of Kerr and Cox won’t play another game this season and why would you risk it with a winning side of the last 3 weeks?

Richmond comes off a humiliating lost and an all in brawl with Collingwood last week, while the Eagles press on with their youth policy and keep winning matches.

No real changes for the Tigers who will be out for some revenge to avenge their humiliating loss to the Pies.

The Eagles management on the other hand are quite pleased with their young charges and will probably keep the side just the same. They have a spot of bother next week as they are considering giving retiring Eagle Chad Fletcher a farewell match with two other premiership players who are yet to be named who are retiring.
