Kebabs can be made with a combination of simple meats and vegetables or simply vegetables for the vegetarian in the house. Alternating vegetables along with a cube of meat coated in herbs and spices can add great flavours to the food.
A tasty Thai style pork kebab provides the perfect combination of Thai flavours with the sweet and sour tastes of ripe plums, ginger and coriander.
Simply trim the pork steaks and cut into 2-3cm pieces, alternating with slices of plum or your favourite stone fruit. Then combine Gourmet Garden Coriander, Ginger, sweet chilli sauce, a touch of fish sauce and a squeeze of lime juice.
Place the kebabs onto the grill (or barbeque), brush with the marinade and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side. Use the remaining marinade as a tasty salsa and serve with rice or a fresh green salad.
Alternatively, brush the kebabs with a marinade of Gourmet Garden Oregano, olive oil and the juice of two lemons. This flavour combination goes perfectly with chicken or beef.
Another easy option is a tasty Malaysian style grilled chicken breast. Mix together Gourmet Garden Chilli, Garlic, Coriander Ginger and soy sauce and rub onto the chicken breast. Let the chicken sit for half an hour while you make a salad or stir fry some vegetables and then pop the chicken onto the grill for five minutes.
This tasty chicken recipe is fantastic on its own, but if you have time a yummy dipping sauce can be mixed up with boiling sugar water, the remaining herbs and a touch of fish sauce.
