Director: Brad Silberling
Rated: PG
Released: 11th June 2009

Dr. Rick Marshall (Ferrell) has spent most of his science career on a theory that he can enter a world where time collides. After giving up hope he is approached by Holly (Friel), an eager follower who intends to help him finish his theory. As it turns out their field test works better than expected and the two of them plus their tour guide Will (McBride) are transported to a world with dinosaurs, extra-terrestrials and items of the past and present.

It looks like silly fun, it IS silly funny! You can't really walk away with any lines to quote but the reaction’s of the characters is hilarious. The effects were so well done as they should be when they got the creature effects genius who worked on Pan’s Labyrinth. The dinosaur’s are ‘Jurassic Park’ like which are amazing! The script was just too cliché sometimes that it was a little cheesy, especially poor Friel's lines. Friel’s improv comes across as expressionless and too relaxed and as it’s the first film in a long time where she was able to use her real accent, I guess she should be! Poor Jorma Taccone who played the famous ‘Chaka’ had to use a completely made up language named Pakuni, it was based on the words from the original series but only consisted of a 400 word guide. It seems Silberling tries to take his audience with him, you jump when the characters jump and you too are affected by daylight when they are... it’s kind of cool! Best of all scenes is a ‘Cher’ moment between Ferrell and McBride so make sure you aren’t running out to the candy bar at that moment. Overall, very funny!
