There have been some pretty fun waves kicking around the southwest corner over the last few days. The whole Margs coast was pumping on Monday, the sun was shining and everywhere seemed to have a wave.

The Box was throwing out a few thick ones and after a couple of long swims I finally made it out the back to shoot off a few frames before the northerly ravaged it.

The winds were northerly again on Tuesday so we headed around the corner to the south coast. The boys were keen to check out a rarely surfed slab, which breaks about 10 feet from a dry ledge.

There was a seal colony hanging in the water right next to the wave and an eerie cross on an overlooking hill in memory of some people that were swept off the rocks to their doom - just a nuts place! It was borderline ridable but it definitely had some potential.

A tasty point break up the coast seemed a little more hospitable than the angry slab. Long lines poured into the point offering fast, whackable walls. It’s one of those places where your legs are absolutely cactus when you kick off at the end of the wave.

Some of my premium photographic work is now on display for sale at Cape Mentelle’s cellar door in Margaret River, the Wise restaurant in Eagle Bay, Dunsborough and The Dancing Goat Cafe in Swanbourne. If you’re in the neighbourhood, check it!

That last photo is fantastic. Would look quite nice in my loungeroom I think.
