Starring: James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman
Director: Timur Bekmambetov
Rated: MA15+
Released: 31 July 2008

Wesley (McAvoy), a depressed young man bored with his existence finds out he is the son of an infamous assassin who has just been murdered. To avenge his father’s death, Wesley will join ‘The Fraternity’, a secret society of assassin’s lead by Sloan (Freeman) where he will learn from hard core training sessions with each member and discover the most of his new found talent through Fox (Jolie) and finally find the so called killer of his father.

Expectations are high from good marketing and advertising but to find out the basis of this whole story is fabric making... just takes it down. This film has great camera technique but it seems amateur as if a student has just completed film school and released his first project.

The characters were bland and empty with the exception of McAvoy who plays a fantastic dark, satirical role yet portrays the life of so many. The stunt scenes were well composed and together with the visual effects it is interesting to watch. ‘Wanted’ is ‘TheMatrix’ cross ‘The DiVinci Code’. I feel men may get more out of this film with a sexy woman, fast cars and explosions.

I thought this was a great movie portrayal of a classic comic book tale!
WYSIWYG type of movie. Fast and furious, with action galore, and no brain power needed.
Lots of twists and turns, and a nice moral ending.
Great, if far fetched movie!
Sit back and enjoy 3½ out of 5.
