Australian Eamon Sullivan is now the fastest swimmer in history after he smashed the world 50 metre freestyle record at the NSW Open Championships in Sydney!!!

The West Aussie said swum a second faster than any previous record and created history.

In the relay, Sullivan also clocked 48.11s which was 0.07s quicker than the previous Australian record Michael Klim set at the 2000 Olympics.

WATCH OUT REST OF THE WORLD... EAMON IS ON FIRE! WA has some big guns at the moment, the Olympics should be awesome to watch, wish i could go, I&#39;d love to see the swimming and the hockey.

congratulations, i read that eamon has been through a lot of injuries, so to see him now being on top of it all - the fastest man in the world, is amazing. What a fantastic moment for Australian swimming, and even more so - WA&#39;n swimming!

I saw his parents at the shops the other day and asked them whether they had got their tickets to the Olympics yet, to which they replied &#39;Hang on, he hasn&#39;t even qualified yet.&#39; <p>I don&#39;t think they have to worry now - being the fastest man in the world he better be at Beijing! </p><p>I hope he contiinues smashing records!</p>
