Australia’s top female pro boxer Erin McGowan from Perth will take on Kwan Pirom Muangroi-ed
of Thailand in her first tilt at an international title.
The match up will take place in Kalgoorlie on Sunday May 4 in the first ever Pan Asian Boxing Association women’s title fight to be held in Australia.
McGowan, who has a 5 out of 5 win record with 4 KO’s, will be tested in her first 10 x 2 - minute round fight against her lightweight division opponent, who has a 5 win and 1 loss record.
The anticipated crowd of 1600 people will also have the chance to see his other boxing protégé,
21 -year old rising star Mike Hatwell in action. He will take on ranked Thai boxer Mike Wanprasert in 4 x 3-minute rounds.
Hatwell, who turned pro at the beginning of the year, has had two consecutive and impressive wins and is currently ranked 11 in Australia in the welterweight division. As an amateur boxer he had an 80 out of 88 win record and won the Gold Miner’s Cup in Kalgoorlie in 2006.
Top billing for locals on the night will be Goldfields boy Daniel Dawson up against Thai fighter Sintung Kietbusaba.
The Fight will take place in Kalgoorlie at the Oasis Recreation Centre, starting at 4pm.
