Microsoft has put in a US$45 Billion dollar bid to buy out the Search giant Yahoo.

For years Bill Gate's company has struggled pushing it's own search engine (Live Search) against the likes of Google and Yahoo.

Looks like Microsoft has opted for the more straight forward way of getting ahead - "just buying out the competition".

If this happens, could you use your MSN Messenger ID to login to Yahoo Mail? Will your Passport be accepted at Yahoo's border? Could you access your Hotmail and Yahoo Mail at the same time?

The result of this buyout would certainly give Google a run for it's money. Google has gone from a simple and effective search engine to a application giant with it's own email (Gmail), Instant Messenger and even online Office applications. For too long Google has enjoyed the top dog position in the online world of search and the interweb! Time for some competition!

So.. What would you like too see from these two guys getting together. What would you hope the children of this union would give us, the consumer?

Better search on your PC? A new version of Windows that just looks like a Yahoo home page?...
