A Perth man is still missing this morning after apparently attempting to swim to Rottnest last night.

Authorities are unsure if he actually left for Rottnest and are continuing to check the surrounding dunes in case he returned from the ocean, walked along the coast and simply fell asleep.

Looks like he may have had some sort of argument with his wife who apparently spent four hours looking for him along the beach.

What would possess a man to just start swimming towards Rottnest - at night?

I've done some crazy things after arguing with my missus, but nothing quite that ambitious!

Who does that, seriously. I hope they find him, but then again, it's his own fault for swimming out to sea at night time. It kinda annoys me when incidents like this happen.. grr!

Must have been some argument!  I could give some other suggestions of what to do when you have an argument with your partner, like just totally ignore them until they come around to your way, or throw a dinner plate at his/her feet!  (I did make sure it was an old one with a chip out of it first!) - I did that one time, and it felt great!  Certainly wouldn't say...I'm swimming to Rotto!  But on a serious note, if that is what he has done, then I really do hope he is somewhere safe!
