Even those who haven’t read the books (like me) have noticed the ads with a suspicion that the sequel is more about the wolves. Bella (Stewart) finds herself relying on Jacob (Lautner) for support after her sudden separation from Edward (Pattinson). Bella’s world opens up as Jacob leads her to realise that vampires are not the only forbidding creature that roams the earth. Jacob tries his best to be more then friends but will Bella succumb to her reality or cling to hope that Edward will save her from her emotional torment.
It was only moments before seeing New Moon that I had caught a glance of a review critiquing that New Moon lacked heart in comparison to the first. Disappointing to read but I would have to disagree. The heart was all there the emotion of love and longing for someone were no less then empathetic. It wasn’t a full burst of action which is what I was expecting but more an emotional rollercoaster with hot bodies... and more hot bodies! We can’t go over the fact that Lautner had buffed up to the limit for the second round and seriously that is buff! The audience had to have a giggle (especially the ladies) with his shirtless scenes especially the convenient moment where he had to get his shirt off for Bella. I was a little disappointed that Jacob was made out to be so desperate, you want to love him but the more you watch the more physically he becomes a man but emotionally more pathetic. The direction this chronicle is headed is very exciting to say the least. I love that the story starts to twist out of Forks and you sense the next part of the journey is something to do with super powers and a freaky Dakota Fanning. What I didn’t expect was the excitement New Moon causes for the anticipation for the third film. I think I have just been arm twisted onto the band wagon... I am getting the third book immediately!
