Hi everyone. I'd just like to point out Red Nose Day is coming up soon!
Red Nose Day is SIDS and Kids WA’s biggest fundraising event of the year and will run throughout the month of June with Red Nose Day being held on Friday June 27.
This year the focus is ‘Kids and Safe Sleeping’ as overheating is a risk factor for SIDS that becomes harder to manage during winter, as is bedding which has the potential to cover babies’ heads while sleeping, so sticking to safe sleeping recommendations becomes vital. Winter brings more risk factors for SIDS into babies’ sleeping environments and we talk to more concerned parents about room temperature and heating as well as bedding at this time of year than any other.
In an effort to make the State see red, SIDS and Kids WA and the WA Reds have joined forces to raise funds for Red Nose Day 2008. SIDS and Kids WA and the WA Reds are urging sports fans to come and support Red Nose Day as well as giving extra momentum to the WA Reds.
This Sunday, June 8 – The WA Reds will use a tough approach for a sensitive cause and kick off a fundraising drive at Members Equity Stadium. The game kicks off at 3.00pm on Sunday June 8 at Members Equity Stadium. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 concession and $8 children.
The fundraising drive will continue on Saturday June 14 when the WA Reds go up against the Erina Eagles at 7.30pm. It will conclude when the team takes on the Wentworthville Magpies at 7.30pm on Saturday June 28, when a cheque will be handed over to SIDS and Kids WA during half-time.
Community involvement in Red Nose Day has already helped us save an estimated 5,000 babies since 1991 – so show your support for SIDS and Kids WA by clicking here to donate online, get along to one of the Western Reds game or buy some merchandise on Red Nose Day!
