Citizens of Movember will once again unite during the month of November to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer and male depression, either by growing a moustache, or supporting the efforts of a moustache enthusiast.
Luke Slattery, co-founding director and original Mo Bro says, “2007 was a phenomenal year for Movember with over 96,000 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas in Australia registering and raising over $15 million for our charity partners the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue: the national depression initiative.
Slattery continues, “However, the whole point of Movember is to raise awareness and to get men to think and talk to friends, family, and their doctors about traditionally uncomfortable health issues. So, these new research results that prove 73% of males who grew a Mo for Movember talked about men’s health issues is a remarkable result.”
