12 days left unitl Father Christmas shimmies his yearlong couch potato belly down random strangers chimneys!! When did that happen! One day you are buying easter eggs for the kiddies, the next Chrismas decorations are popping up everywhere.. The price of this (good cheer, peace and harmony) season has rocketed.. Gone are the days of barbies (Gi Joes for the boys) and a turkey roast.

Christmas is new age, high tech and unaffordable!!! Sad but true!!

So once again I fight an uphill battle in trying to install some sense of tradition with a good old fashion Christmas (It helps that i am British.. Thanks mum for the memories) in my family. Of couse the price is higher (teenage girls are not cheap at all) but everything from setting up the tree, making mince pies from scratch, the full turkey roast with all the trimmings (no prawns on the barbie here), plum pudding with pennys and homemade brandy custard.... you get the picture... are lovingly organised and prepared.

It would be a heart warming feeling if, when I'm out to pasture, that my grandchildren know what traditions are and embrace them with pride and joy! A family 's memories are precious especially on christmas day..

HAVE A FANTASTIC CHRISTMAS MY FELLOW NUTTERS (however you choose)

MAY YOUR STOCKINGS BE FULL AND YOUR HEARTS NEVER EMPTY!!
