Princess Margaret Hospital Visit

My visit to PMH

Today I went to visit the kids at PMH and in the Starlight Express Room. I had so much fun and the kids that I met were really nice! Wards 5B and 5C were so bright and colourful, and were decorated with Christmas decorations that the kids had made! One little boy had been in hospital for a long time and was finally going home – to Karratha today, he was so excited!

The nurses were really nice to me too, but suggested I go on a diet, as I couldn’t fit through some of the doors! I then went up to the Starlight Room where I met Captain Starlight and one of the helpers and I got to dance with some kids on the TV! I even learnt some new moves, which was pretty cool. There were so many different activities that you could do, I wish I could live there!

Then I went out to the Megazone which was fantastic – it’s a place where kids, parents, families and friends can hang out and play games, do arts and crafts, watch a movie in the mini-cinema or have a game of basketball outside. It’s such a great place for the sick kids, ‘just to be kids’ and it doesn’t even feel like a hospital. I then played outside on the equipment, but I couldn’t climb on to the slide, so I just watched. I also tried to play basketball but I think I need some more practice– maybe that can be my excuse to go back to visit again!

The time I spent in the Starlight Room and Megazone was fun and I hope I can go back there again and meet even more kids!
